A look inside my go-to gear
I know I’m not alone here. We all lean towards what we are comfortable with. The one burner that gets used more than the others on the stovetop, the one ponytail holder that we prefer over all of the others, and I know I’m not the only one that has a favorite coffee mug. We all have our preferences, so it’s no wonder that I have so many favorites when it comes to my camera gear!
My Favorite Lens
I want to preface my favorite lens with a bit of backstory. I have had a camera in my hand since junior high. I have seen both camera bodies and camera lenses evolve, and I have evolved with them. I have a great appreciation for camera equipment, and I don’t take picking my gear lightly, let alone a favorite piece of equipment. With that being said, my current favorite lens is the Canon RF 28-70mm f/2.
Why I Love This Lens
The Canon RF 28-70mm f/2 is my favorite lens because it gives me speed and instant versatility! I don’t have to change lenses throughout my session. Everything I need is in this one lens! I can quickly switch between environmental shots to closeup shots and right back! I LOVE the bokeh and love how I can easily control the light.
My Other Favorite Finds
My favorite camera bag is the PRVKE Lite from Wandrd X Nena & Co. I have also recently ordered a Clutch hand strap from Peak Design, which makes using one hand with my heavy lens possible! My Hoya evo antistatic uv filer is an absolute must-have during sessions at the beach. I also use an Op/Tech USA plastic rain sleeve cover to protect my camera from being splashed by waves when I’m in the water. I personally use SanDisk Extreme PRO 128 GB 300/mb/s memory cards, SanDisk Extreme PRO 128 GB CFexpress, and two identical copies of SanDisk 4TB Extreme Portable SSD to store all of my images.
