Why Families Planning a Santa Barbara Vacation Hire a Photographer


Planning an extended family vacation in Santa Barbara is no small task. Between finding the perfect vacation rental, coordinating travel, making restaurant reservations, and planning activities everyone will enjoy, there's a lot to think about.

Whether you're staying in a beautiful Airbnb, a VRBO, or a luxury vacation home, one thing I recommend adding to your itinerary is a family photo session.


As a Santa Barbara family photographer, I've photographed hundreds of families, including many multigenerational vacations and family reunions. More and more, I'm seeing grandparents, siblings, cousins, and grandchildren gathering from all over the country for a week together. These trips don't happen very often, which makes them worth remembering.

Every family has a "designated photographer." More often than not, it's Mom.

More than a vacation


Many of the families I photograph aren't simply taking a vacation. They're celebrating a milestone anniversary. They're gathering for a family reunion. They're bringing three or four generations together under one roof. Those weeks together are rare.


Long after the flights home, the souvenirs are unpacked, and the vacation ends, your photographs become one of the few things that continues to grow in value.
